Love is in the air...

We finally met our friend Sharon's new beau, Jeff. We had great conversation and lunch at Zocalo the week before Christmas. Jack took this picture of the couple with the camera upside down so I rotated the pic right side up for your convenience! LOL

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Christmas Eve at the home of Grandpa Bruce and Lola! The boys love to play with the train around grandpa's tree. This year, there were 2 sets of tracks and 2 trains so each boy could control their own - I think each of them were trying to derail their train on purpose! Lots of cookies to eat, cider to drink and wonderful presents to play throughout the year. Thank you Grandpa and Lola!

A Visit With Santa

Santa stopped by the James Marshall Preschool Christmas Party and my two favorite guys were able to tell the Man what they wanted for Christmas. Hal got the sled he asked for and Jack got his space station!

Thank you, Santa!

I've got braces!

This was taken in early December at the annual fundraiser for the West Sacramento Christmas Basket Project which provides food to families and seniors. Hailey helped me sell over $400 in raffle tickets - what a helper! Jack was in Carson City that weekend watching his uncle Billy 'Hey Yo' Johnson graduate from UNR with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Go Billy! I posted this picture cause it is the only one I have with my braces but I'm not sure you can see them!

Having Fun with Maya

Okay, so I can't snuggle her or tickle her feet, but I can put her picture in a pretty border! No new photos yet, just more of what we received at our referral. We sent a package down with some baby items and a cute little Christmas dress. My sister Christy had to help me shrink our items down to fit in the allowable 1 gallon Ziploc bag! I already have another bag filled and ready to go down in late January! Tom Petty sings, "the waiting is the hardest part" and he is so right! I bought some books about Guatemala and will teach myself about her culture while we wait for the process to happen in her country. Sometimes it seems unreal that Maya exists, but she does!

Our baby girl from Guatemala

Today, we got pictures of our baby girl from Guatemala - Maya Ruth Noemi Johnson! We are over the moon with excitement! She was born on November 8, 2006 and we signed the paperwork this morning to begin the adoption process in Guatemala. Right now is hurry up and wait time! If all goes well, we will be traveling to pick her up in May but it could take a bit longer.

Hot tubbing with Grammy

Vacation Fun!

Jack got over his ocean fear and played in the warm Pacific waters in Zihuatanejo! He also loved the salt-water pool on the ship and couldn't get enough of salt taste - yuck! The jaccuzzi was fresh water and the boys never wanted to get out. Here, Grammy enjoys the bubbles with Jack & Hal.

Jack & Hal with our waiter, Murdana! They were in heavan at dinner each night! They'd try some new items from the menu and then finish off with nuggets and fries!

This is a pic from dinner on the cruise we took 2 weeks ago. We had the best time and I enjoyed eating lots of steak since I now have braces on my teeth and have been consuming mostly soup!

Hal's 5th Birthday

This past weekend, my nephew Hallie turned 5 years old! His party was at a cool splash park and all the kids had a great time getting wet, going on a treasure hunt, eating hot dogs and cake and hitting the pinata! I can't believe he is 5 already! I remember his first bday party like it was yesterday!

38 is Great!

Happy Birthday to Russell! Zocalo was the scene for delicious food, tequila tasting & kicking off Russell's 38th Year! The blackberry margarita was especially delicious!

Back to Preschool

This pic is from Jack's first day back at Preschool. This is his good friend, Charlee. She is such an adorable sweetie! The second year of preschool is going really well so far. On Wednesday, a police officer visited the class and talked about safety and then finger-printed each child. This coming week will be fun because some firemen are coming and the kids will get to try holding a fire hose and other cool stuff!

We are Family

Labor Day Weekend, 2006 - all of the Johnson's together for the first time in years! What a great weekend. We played Cranium 2 times and the newlyweds - Gabe & Julie - beat the rest of us so badly, it was embarrassing!

Mommy & Jack in Mulege, Mexico - March 2006. I was going through my pics from this awesome trip, remembering the quaint town and the fun we had exploring. Right now, the whole town of Mulege is flooded from Tropical Storm John and in need of major help!
